August is nearly half over, and I’m just getting to the update of my home page. Family life and the writing life have kept me busy, busy, busy. I have recently attended the annual conference of the Romance Writers of America, held in San Francisco. There is one new conference-related picture on the photo page.

This month I’d like to pay a special tribute to a fellow writer, Kristy Dykes, who suffered from a brain tumor and went to be with her Lord. You can read her inspirational story at this link: http://christianlovestories.blogspot.com/

Kristy’s life was full of love for the Lord and her family. Her life and testimony have touched many people. She knew that despite her grave illness that God was with her, giving her peace and hope. That is a lesson the heroine of my January 2009 book, MOMMY’S HOMETOWN HERO, must learn, as she returns home to attend her mother’s funeral. She needs to find the peace that Kristy and her family had through this traumatic time.
